Quick Diaper Cake Tutorial
We made this quick tutorial to show you just how easy it is to make a diaper cake quickly. Making one is easier than you think. Yes, if you want to you can buy one online but they tend to be expensive. You can make your own quick for pretty much half of the costs. To make a diaper cake, you need to have some creativity and you need to know what kind of theme your going for.
Below, the diaper cake we are creating is using 25 diapers. You can use more or less diapers because it depends on what you want to do.
Step One: Before you even start rolling the diapers, remember to get brand name diapers. You can save over 40% if you buy generic diapers but they tend to make thinner diaper cakes. You also dont want people to know that you are using a generic brand of diapers to make your cakes. Once you got your diapers, you need to roll them up and tie a rubber band around them. Its better if you ise clear rubber bands but they tend to be more expensive.
Step Two: After you have wrapped a rubber band around all your diapers. You need to grab 7 diapers and tie them with a big rubber band. This will make the top tier of your diaper cake. This cake we are making will only have two tiers.
(Alternate) Step Two: If you want to do something a little bit different and fun. You can hide different baby items in the middle of your diaper cake. You can put a baby bottle in the middle or you can put a baby rattle. It all depends on you and what you want to do.
Step Three: Once you have made all the tiers for your diaper cake, it time to put a ribbon around each tier. Before you add the ribbon, make sure that you know what kind of diaper cake you are making. You want the entire cake to match, from the ribbon to the embellishments. You can add the ribbons with double sided tape. Make sure that the ribbon is surrounding the diaper cake tightly.
Optional Ribbon Flowers: If you want to add more embellishments, you can add flowers to the diaper cake.
Optional Add Toys & Decoration: Now that you are done with your diaper cake, its now time to add more embellishments to your cake. If you dont, your cake will look nice but it would look pretty bare. To embellish your cake, you can add different baby items around your cake. You can put a pacifier, baby mittens, baby socks, baby bib and even more. You can also hide different items in the middle of the diaper cake. Once the new mommy is taking apart the diaper cake, that when she is going to find the different items.
